Knowing that these are still roaming about makes it easy to sit in a tree for long hours.

This buck has a funky left antler.  I saw him near our camp just before the gun season.  I think he is still out there.

This picture was taken at noon on the first Sunday of the gun season.  We were having lunch about a quarter mile away.  Yes, there is an empty stand just behind the camera.

I think I would have heard about it if someone shot this big boy.

I never had any luck with shed hunting.  I usually go a couple times in the spring while checking for winter killed deer, but never find and sheds.  Deer generally are around in the winter (tracks) but maybe I just haven't found where they go to drop their antlers.

Just across the bay we live on we watch deer travel their well used trail,Where they come to a barbed wire fence each spring we find sheds  most times  we find the pair within 30-40 feet of that point. we have forks to 10 pointerd used to take that walk every spring when the snow was almost gone.I  have found a few in the woods but that fench is a first to look spot.
