Yesterday afternoon Roseville Fire and Lake Johanna were dispatched to Lake Josephine boat launch for a vehicle seen through the thin lake ice.

Firefighters from both Roseville Fire and Lake Johanna Fire, partnered with Ramsey County Sheriff Deputies worked together to begin immediate search and rescue operations in search of the vehicle occupant. Crews had to navigate dangerously thin ice to reach the automobile but were able to gain access quickly to the vehicle. A single deceased occupant was located inside the vehicle.

Numerous agencies assisted with this emergency including Lake Johanna Fire Department, Allina EMS, and the Ramsey County Sheriffs Office. The Ramsey County Sheriffs Office will release additional information regarding this incident.
