Here are my top 10: (in no particular order)
#1-Dale Earnhardt Sr.
#2-Richard Petty
#3-Rusty Wallace (LOVED the MGD car of old)
#4-Tony Stewart
#5-Dale Jr.
#6-Kevin Harvick
#7-Denny Hamlin (for a rookie-he was smokin!)
#8-Jeff Burton-may not have won many races-but has class!
#9-Matt Kenseth-1 time Cup champ.-yet down to earth
#10-Jimmie Johnson

And how could I forget Mark Martin?   He's probably the most respected driver on the track. 

Many say Tony Stewart drives like Dale Sr. did. -Aggressive- Regardless...Nascar doesn't want them driving like that anymore.  (Those were the good ol days-bumpin, bangin, doing what it took to win a race)  They want more of a Slot Car style race...where pretty much all they do is go round and round and round.   Now I don't advocate crashing into people, but look at the "Bump & Run" that J. Gordon does-they don't even want that.   ::)  I still say that Nascar would be alot different if Dale Sr. were still here (but we'll never know).
