GO FOR THE GUSTO!

No, I'm not drinking Schlitz.  But we've been gong through some process and personnel transition at work and it's been pretty stressful.  All for good reasons, but these times are always difficult in a corporate environment.  Anyway, I have an AWESOME team and they surprised me with a little gift and nice little note to let them know there're behind me.  It was REALLY cool and unexpected. But enough abut the sappy part...

The gift was a variety of rubs from a company called GUSTO.  Anybody ever tried this stuff?  I checked-out their website and they seem like a neat company and a good small business.  I will be making ribs today with their Memphis Rub, and I'll report back on how it turns out!  Here's their website, and see pics below:

This stuff was REALLY good.  I did two racks of baby backs and tried the Kansas City Rub and accompanied it with RH1's Butcher Sauce on one rack and the Memphis rub served Memphis-style with no sauce on the other.  I was so hungry by meal time that I forgot to get pics of the finished product.  But trust me, they were beautiful!

The KC ribs with the sauce was the winner, but both were great. I did mop the Memphis ribs with Cider Vinegar mixed with some of the rub that made them a little tangy, very good but the unanimous choice was the KC.

I would recommend trying this com pay to anyone who like to experiment with different rub companies

Thanks Thunder for the update.  I will check it out for sure.  I make my own rub but am always willing to try something new and I will.  good luck.

Yes thank you for the update.  I too will look into it but wait to order until you give the OK on the rest so I only have to make one order.  I will second and my wife will third RH's butcher sauce

Boar just look at my site  www.sausageheavenoutdoors.com in the Smokin Hot page and you will see my Butcher sauce.  Very simple and also the Reinhard Caught A Buzz Sauce which takes a little more time.  The owner of the resort wants me to prep and BBQ some ribs when I come up for his family and I will use the Butcher sauce.  All they use is store bought so it will be a change for them.  good luck.
