I'm stuck down here, Blaine, heading home this AM. They got an inch of rain last night. When I got here yesterday morning I pulled into my sons driveway with a bit of a slope and the car slid back down, glare ice. It warmed up last night as others headed back to Brainerd and the roads were ok. Ice and 35 mph wind right now.

We only go a couple of inches in Baudette last night.  But it is snowin pretty hard now with big flakes.  It will add up to a few inches for sure.  Supposed to taper off by noon.  Maybe another 4" I would guess with this snow????

Lots of wind and drifting today, white out conditions off and on all day. No guess how much snow as it started yesterday as a fins sleet pellet. Took the wife and I over 3 hours to drive from deer river home last night 76 miles. Turned to snow this morning maybe 2 inches? Wicked wind all day

I drove back to Brainerd from Blaine yesterday at 70 MPH,the wind was crazy bad but the roads were dry. When I got to about Fort Ripley the roads turned into glare ice and could only go about a white knuckled 35-40 the rest of the way. I saw a bunch of big houses headed north, I can't imagine how bad that wind and ice was from here to Red or LOW where I would guess most were heading. I think I would have stopped somewhere.

You're right Glenn, and not a single network showed the snow totals like they usually do either.

LOW, West side of lake seems to have around 6" of snow on the ice, that's the new plus old.

I can't say what they have up the middle (rocky point, zipple etc) or east side.

Ice thickness reports I've gotten today from friends on the lake, one says 15", another says 17"

I had 12" of ice on Saturday put font of Sandy shores. There was only about 2" of snow on the ice before it snowed. I would say we only got 6-8" of snow out of the storm. I have not been on the lake since it snowed, but I am guessing about the same as what Dave is saying.
Hey look your bobber is up!
