Hunting, fishing and state park permits to rise under budget plan.

UPDATED: May 21, 2017 at 11:06 pm

 :coffee: ......
The Legislature’s environment and natural resources budget, which has the backing of Gov. Mark Dayton, includes about $23 million in fee increases. The measure passed the Senate with a 42-25 vote Sunday and passed the House 83-51 shortly before 11 p.m..

Under the proposal:

Resident fishing license increases by $3 to $25.
Resident deer hunting license rises $4 to $34.
Three-year snowmobile registration increases $30 to $105.
Three-year all-terrain vehicle registration climbs $15 to $60.
Day passes to state parks rise $2 to $7.
Year passes to state parks rise $10 to $35.

The last time hunting and fishing license fees increased was in 2012. The increases were proposed by the Department of Natural Resources and Dayton to keep up with rising costs.

Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen, R-Alexandria, the chief sponsor of the budget bill, defended the necessity of the fee increases but acknowledged outdoor enthusiasts might not want to pay more.

I don't see any fee increases on nonresident licenses. :doah:

That would be a dumb mistake. :bonk:

no issue with that. matter of fact it was higher.............thanks to the Minnesota darkhouse association they got it lowered. the argument is why should we have to pay to spear/fish. we already have a license. now its along the lines of the walleye stamp, trout stamp, duck stamp, pheasant stamp.......well you get the picture!!!!!

with all the licenses i buy they get a fair share of cash from me!!!!!!!!!! confused-3316.gif

This is a joke.  Guess I'll be selling a 2002 Arctic cat 600zl EFI snowmobile with 1900 miles on it.  I might also stick to giving my money to fish to South Dakota.

As I understand it boar the 30 bucks is what it's going up. The fee you pay now already includes the trail sticker fee.

I wouldn't mind a small increase but need to trim fat. In all reality the fees for license to hunt and fish versus the amount of time you spend doing it is realatively cheap. Any game or dish is an added bonus!

The iritating part is you don't see or hear of any methods to cutting costs!
