Just a quick question here. While on my trip up nort dis yr. we stopped as usual in Superior WI at da Bait Box for leeches. Found out dat no more Large, Med, or small sizes on leeches.
Now they are all mixed when you buy dem by da pound. Also da price was at & $24.00 per pound. In Ely the same held true. Anyone else have any reports dat vary from dis. Sounds to me like da "Leech Cartel" has figured out how to increase revenues and cut labor.

I heard several versions from various sources as to what's going on wit dis new system.

Anyone have input on da topic?

It is illegal to bring bait from Wisconsin into Minnesota, so you've been breaking the law for many years.    
We've had large leeches for most of the summer, along with the medium/pond run so it shouldn't have been a problem if you had looked around??   
Note to Fawkinnae:  Hard to find leeches in Canada (Ontario)since they banned their importation from Minnesota.  They now have to trap their own and do not have the fertile leech ponds that they have in western Minnesota.

It is illegal to bring bait from Wisconsin into Minnesota, so you've been breaking the law for many years.

Of course I'd never rat you out for not buying your bait in Ely, but just bootlegged it in from another state. 
But being a Bear fan, it is not too hard to believe that you'd drive to Superior, buy leeches, go back home to Illinois, then drive back through the same area to save a few pennies on bait!!   
I'll have to pass the word around Ely to charge you the Benedict Arnold prices when you come back!!!
