anyone hear where collecting rain water is not legal????????????? i set pails out to collect the rain running off the roof of the house and garage. i use it to water flowers, garden plants, and now dumping it on my trees getting them ready for winter.

one of my stepkids told me her cousin and boyfriend said its not legal??????????????????????????????

Screw 'em!!! No one owns the rain!!!!  That's what's SUPPOSED to water things!  Go for it!   :happy1:

oh i have been. i currently have 35 gallons dumped on my 3 biggest trees and 25 gallons on the smaller trees!!!!!! :happy1: :happy1: with a generous supply available!!!!!!!!!

and its easier on my city water bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :happy1: :happy1:

I saw a story where some guy was capturing rain runoff before it could enter a local stream, but we are talking hundreds of thousands of gallons of water. Rain captured in a rain barrel, never seen anything about that. I have a rain barrel on everyone of my outbuildings. better then having to move a hose around the gardens.

Water laws are a bigger deal in western states.  There they do limit the amount of runoff you can collect.
