Has anyoneone been doing some training exercises with their dogs. My new pup teal is 5 months so have been working her as this is a time retreiving needs to start getting serious. I also have been working my little yellow lab Ziegler also. Here are a couple of pictures I took while throwing the bumper. Post some  photos of the new year training exercises if you have them or tell us how your winter training is going.

My gravestone will not say " I wish I would have worked more..."

Mandy will come over to my chair right about 9 PM and start wagging her tail and nuzzling my hand till I get out there and toss the bumper.

When the snow gets to deep in the yard I go out to the street and toss it up the road aways.

Or we head to the dog park and play there, I wish I could use the launcher to get the bumper out there further.

I usualy go for 15 minutes then walk her around the block, then another 10 minutes before we go to the back yard where she can slow down and take care of the nature buisness before coming in for the night.

That is great so many people don't like the cold so won't go out and work those pups. It is healthy for people and their pet to get out and do a little exercise during the winter months!

I actually have started to take up jogging so my dog can get some winter exercise now that hunting is over. I have a vizsla and he does not enjoy playing fetch, but will retrieve a bird when hunting , and will not stay outside unless he is running around (he does not enjoy the cold). Works out well for both of us as I need the exercise as well.
