any ideas why on my chebby truck the break lites came on and got kinda soft?????? there are new brakes all the way around it not to long ago. i bet i dont have 1000 miles on it. fluid looks good!!!!!

If the fluid level is good, then I would say a master cylinder.

Did the calipers get replaced?  Sounds like it could be a leaking seal in the piston seal.

My guess would be the antilocks got air in them. you will need to get the antilocks to engage a few times to purge the air out. Go to a dirt road and slam on the brakes to get them to engage. I had the same thing when i did the brakes in my blazer a couple years back. Eventually everything went back to normal. that is my guess, but sounds very familiar to what i had.
