I planted the plots on July 11th.  next year I plan to plant some at that time and some 3 weeks later.  The tops are starting to ripen and turn reddish.  However, the turnips are big or dare I say huge.  Can't wait to see what the deer will do with them after it snows.

They must dig them up if they can??  Must be awesome to have your own land and watch the deer ect. there.  Lot's of work of course, but I bet it's worth it.  When I was younger I hated turnips but now I buy some now and then and add them to soups and stews.  good luck.
