This sequence of photos taken from my video show just why they are called widow makers.

Notice the large limb extending to the right of the deer stand.


As the tree starts to fall this limb breaks free taking other tree tops with it. It would not be fun to be under it.
Also, see all the branches on the top of the tree.


The tree hangs up on the stump and shakes many of the dead branches to the ground.

Then there's the possible "jump" back at ya when ya notch it out/finish cut it to fall.
That killed a guy I used to work with here last Fall.
