This past weekend we made the 11 hour drive to Waskish for our annual land prep weekend. We were able to cut a trail along the entire southern border of our 40 acres parcel. We also cleared an area by my sons stand to make a small clover plot. We also had time for fishing, camp fires, target practices and other projects (raise up the dock, launch the pontoon). Plus we spent time with family! Great weekend!

Looks and sounds like a great weekend to me. Should pay some dividends come this fall.

Way out west in Spearfish, SD. I'm ten miles from the WY border. My parents still live in my home town (Isanti). So they head to the cabin a couple times a month.

The new food plot needs to be mowed. My folks are heading back up this weekend and plan to cut it. Here are a couple recent pictures of some deer visiting the new food plot. There is a nice 8 pointer that we have been seeing a lot of pictures of.

Are those ferns in your food plot.  If they are the PH of the soil is really low and you might want to apply some lime this year to help next year.
Anything that is free is worth saving up for.

Yes, there are ferns. Thanks for the suggestion. We'll add lime when I get back up their in Sept.
