 :reporter;.....Southwest in Fire Weather Watch on Friday
With gusty winds and low humidity expected Friday afternoon in southwest Minnesota, the National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch. This alert means critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.

Counties in the Fire Weather Watch include:The Fire Weather Watch is in effect Friday until 6 p.m.

Brown, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Lac Qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Stevens, Swift, Watonwan, and Yellow Medicine.

Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Please stay tuned for possible forecast and alert updates, including Red Flag Warnings.

Well this should be interesting thru sunday as most western farmers burn ditches and such this time of year after crops are harvested unless this practice has changed ,years back pheasant hunting in lac qui parle county one could see ditch fires miles away and an occasional dry slough.
