with the way things are today, I am afraid they wont resort to those measures ever again, until maybe when it's to late?
the bleeding hearts in this country seem to have a bigger voice than the common sense abiding citizens.
we will politicly correct ourselvs to our end  :(

just imagine the fighting men and women who gave their lives in all the past wars and conflicts for the united states of america and the american standard of living, seeing how things are done now.
we should be embarrased and ashamed to call ourselves americans.
maybe that term will soon be only in hidden history books?

Ive been there,,,

It's not pretty.. I would have to rate that day one of the worst in my life.

Them little Jap basturds are all over the place.
The kids are running around like it was some sort of freaking picnic.

They are laughing and smiling and talking. Lord Knows what the hell they are saying.

I don't know at all,,,but you get a idea on there body language.

It was one of the most somber and most pissed off place I have EVER been to in my life.

I wanted to do some real ass kicking and at the same time I was crying....Not just inside I realy had tears in my eyes..

I went there to pay my respects,,,But I NEVER want to go back,,,and if I do it will not be with out my 270 and that is a solid fact

You should visit the consentration camps, when I visited Auschwitz the smell was still there.
It wasn't that noticable unless you stood there long enough, it would start to stink bad enough to make your stomach turn.

When I was in Paris the French people there were rude, and would stop and glare if you tried to make conversation.

I was looking for some relatives but not being able to speak French made it hard to get any where with them.

Now out side Paris it was different, they all were nice and you couldn't get away from them because they wanted to chat.

???  THEY SAY TIME HEALS OLD WOUNDS? RATIONALITY and RATIONALISM are HUMAN traits that conflict with history and current events , it can be easier to forgive but not in the HUMAN nature to FORGET ! AS the majority of the people of JAPAN were in a world of their own and not tuned to the ways of free thinking and out spoken , self ruleing other world that we all live in today!

woodchuck, you just been faking it all along,   8)
that is one of the most smartest things I ever heard you say...er.. read you say..er read you write...er...aw never mind.

to each of us who has been fairly comfortable in our little bubbles all our lives, it is easy to criticize the feelings and emotional beliefs of another.
take a step outside the bubble.
think about it.
I am 43 years old.
during my life, I barely remember viet nam. I was scroungies age when it ended.
there were no world wars.
things have been relatively peacful.
then came the made for television gulf war, but that was such a walk in the park, it was more like an inconvienince with gas rising to an unheard of $1.51 cents a gallon!
now the war in Iraq will bring home with the soldiers who do make it back, a new resentment.

my point is, take a walk through the area in pearl harbor.
see the japaneese tourists speeking their own language and lauging and see how it makes you feel in your stomach.talk to a vet of world war II and ask him or her what they think about japaneese american citizens. then ask them if they even thought about what they just said.
take a walk through the concentration camps and breath the smell. look at the pictures and think about an entire race that was nearly wiped off the face of the earth. ask a jewish person what they think about the halocaust, nazi germany. how about the skin heads that are american citizens.

people have feelings and memories and thoughts of what it means to be an american. just because you dont see it in your little safe bubble does not mean you have the right to criticize that.

being a public forum, I imagine we will end up going the way of all the other forums to maintain political correctness. even though we swore up and down we would not.
I agree there are some tones that we can do without, but the posters here are real people with real thoughts and feelings.

a note to everybody before this becomes a free for all, lets try to be tactful in our posts. we are only in our ninth month of existance as a " new and better website"
we never know who is reading, so keep that in mind.
we want this to be a place everyone will enjoy.

women and children visit here as do potential sponsors.
keep this in mind allways when you post.
think about your child or grandchild reading what is posted here and let that be a guage to your tone.
thanks ;D

If people just watch their wording a little closer we won't succumb to political correctness.  The whole reason for pearl harbor and subsequent ww11 was to get the US out of the depression, read it yourself, it is all there in the history books. If anyone believes it was a surprise attack, then you believe the US military is completely incompetent. There is no way the mightiest army in the world did not see this coming.  War is all fun and games to the people pushing the buttons in D.C.  It is not like the old days when the generals were on the front line leading the charges.  You all probably think I am anti-american the way I sound, but that is completely wrong. Or that I am being politically correct, I could give a rats hinder about that. I just see the USA  not at all the way it used to be and I don't like where it is headed. And I believe it is because of our leaders with their own agenda, not looking to make the world a better place for everyone, just lining their own pockets and egos.

It is not a game to me, it is a game to the elites in power. Calm down woodchuck, no need to shout at me or belittle me for my opinion. We are talking about economic depression here not mental. War was only depressing before the formation of the federal reserve system in 1913. After that wars are always stimulating to the economy because the fed prints money to pay for everything needed for a war.  The fed is a private corporation that makes money out of thin air with the governments blessing. It is crooked and immoral. Follow the money trail, from 1913 on and it all comes together like a puzzle. This is when wars became a game to the moneychangers.  It is all recorded if youlook hard enough and really want to know the truth.  Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow.  That's my opinion and I don't need to shout about it and call people names.

I have an idea, why dont we direct any and all political banter to this site

http://www.politicalcrossfire.com/

they are very knowledgeable and they can tell you whether they think we are doing the right thing in Iraq, or if war is a game etc.
there is a very good topic over there right now about pearl harbor.

I think we need to stick with hunting- fishing and everything outdoors here.
it fits our name better I think.

all posts outdoorsy are welcome at www.MNOutdoorsman.com

I gave up trying to change peoples minds a long time ago, it's more fun to see them dig their own hole .

I do have to admit that it is a good idea to just stick with the outdoor's subjects though.

These political threads only cause disruption in an other wise great site, and the hard feelings in the thread can spill over to other threads as well.

The screen has no emotion to show the reader how the writer feels, it is easy to read any thing you want into the post and to see the negativity or the good depending on how one views it.

I agree with keeping it to outdoor politics. I have my opinions and I keep them to myself at least on the net. I also don't spend the time to read a political post over 3 sentances long.

I am a fairly new joiner here and have made a few comments, but after reading these about PH I just had to add my 2 cents..  Yesterday was the 171st anniverary of the fall of the Alamo,, I didn't see one article written here about it.. Maybe time does heal all wounds.. QG
