A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for portions of northern and northwest Minnesota until 10 PM CDT. Thunderstorms developing across the region will be capable of severe winds and large hail.

Early 70s I had a trip planned to Yellowstone by way of the Black Hills. It was all camping planned on the first night near Rapid City. The week before we were leaving they had a big rainfall that washed out a dam and killed a bunch of campers.
Re-routed across North Dakota. Still think about the lucky timing for us. God takes care of fools and children, and Iā€™m no kid.

Bobber, doesn't look good for Yellowstone visit. Today they said the northern part may be closed until next fall.

Thanks for the heads up DE. We're thinking on canceling the cabin and looking into Colorado somewhere now, if ya can't do the whole park why go, there's always next year.

Got caught in a "roony down poor yesterday on the freeway, seen "cats n dogs" coming down....lol.

bobber, colorado is a great backup plan, old west minning town like Breckenridge has lot's to offer to tourists and the family, vail is worth a stop, take a tram ride to the mtn top and hike/site see, beautiful country,or visit "cripple creek" gold mining town with gold panning still happening right on the street, couple bucks gets you a gold pan and a shovel full of panning material, everyone finds flower gold, sometimes nuggets, then back country fishing.

Dude ranch up the mountain across the freeway from vail, "piney lake" the summit has horse riding worth a looksey and family fun.
