Just got off the phone with my bud from South Dakota. He was on the road from near Yankton to Pierre, he was by Chamberlin and said. The snows are high..flying from horizon to horizon and heading straight north and NOT stopping. It was 64 above there as we were talking.

He said the fields and section roads are deep mud!!

 NO SNOW!! what so ever

He suggested calling this years spring hunt a WASH!!!

We are not going. The birds will be through South Dakota in no time flat with the south wind and way nice weather.

How good of a friend is this? Sounds like someone it being greedy!!! Wishful thinking, I know. Let's just hope your friend has bad depth perception and they were actually landing all around him! ;) I'm still going, after all there is More to hunting than dead birds... not much more but there is more!!! (there may just be a few dozen grain belts drank back at the house if the birds don't cooperate... sounds fun to me!!!). Happy hunting! ~ Greg

 10-4 on that Jig.

We have chased them 50-60 miles from where they rested during the night to where they were going to feed and still not had them sit down.

It's all in how much money for gas you got and how long you got to keep chasing them. If we had a snow line or storm out front of them. Then a person could set up for them. Now, it's don't leave your gear at the motel, as you will be staying at a differnt motel every night. They are heading straight for the Tundra
