Im looking for a good venison roast recipe.  I have a venison cook book but the one recipe in there for a roast sounds kinda lame.  I was thinking of grilling or smoking it but really have no idea for temps.

I know I have to do something to keep it moist but I'll take any suggestions you seasoned cooks have.

Everyone have a Happy Easter.    ::dancinred::

I'll have to get the one my wife uses... it is the bomb.  she even eats it, and she don't like deer.
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

SLOW AND LOW   my brother .  season it  the way you like.  venison is very very lean  . what i would do is get a iron fry pan as hot as you can  and brown the roast.  then put er outside on the grill or smoker . i would also make a good mop for it . this keeps it moist during the smoking procces as well as the grilling. tell me what your tastes  are  and will come up with a mop sauce for you .

Well I know I don't like bay leaves.  My wife :chef: :chef: :chef: :chef: :chef:  found a recipe in some crok pot cook book.  It was ok but I could tell right away there was a bay leaf in the mix.  I also don't like the Mrs Dash seasonings.  There's just something in there that rube me wrong.  I've done the water smoker with apple juice and pineapple juice in with the water along with hickory and misquite (spelling  ??? ) -- not all at the same time though.  I love to experiment and I'll never let vennison go to waste so I'll try anything you got except this    ::spam:;    ;D
Thanks Holdem.
