Thanks for reminding me!! I have been tring to block out the idea that opener is near. I am sooo excited! I open every year on Mille Lacs and spend the rest of the year fishing that lake. We have a place at Macs. Where do you fish out of??

I skipped the midnight fishing the last 2 years. Both years it was becasue of the wind and cold. 3 years ago it was cold but calm. I think we were out until about 3. I caught the biggest perch of my life that night, A healthy 13 incher.

If the weather cooperates I will probably toss out a bobber of the end of the dock or cast rapalas over the tops of the weeds, usually do good that way.

What is it 30 days???

We almost always start out right in front of the Goose each year.  We usually pull rapalas, and if it's too windy we bobber nob it.  But actually the past two years it has always calmed down to almost no wind by about 1:00 a.m. and then the lake has been just like glass.  We have done incredibly well the last few years, just had a lot of great luck and good times and have even caught our limit!  I too am so excited about this year, I hope the weather is good again.  Thanks for responding, just wondering if anyone else is getting the itch like us!!
