tonka crappie fishing... 4-28-07
well, was a great day out... we didn't enter the crappie contest, but maybe I should have had my kid in it.  we went out to grandpa's bay this morning looking for sunfish. 

Threw out a jig and a waxie and it went down right away.  Crappie!!  We switched to minnows and got quite a few.  ended up keeping 8 of the nicer ones.

 My 10 year old boy caught a 13" and a 12 1/2 " crappie.  and we got a lot of sunnies too. 


It was a good day to be out.

4-5 fow, pink or purple and white headed flu-flu with minnow.

the water was 62.5 degrees in the bay.

Any time a kid has fun catchin' fish it's definitely worth the time spent out on the water.  Way to go!  Nice fish the kids caught.  They've topped my best!
