I like the Vikings picks so far, our #1 pick is going to be a stud running back in the NFL, this years plan is to feature him in the backfield with Chester Taylor.

Now we just need a couple of our current receivers to step up. Passing on Brady Quinn was a sure sign that Tavaris Jackson will run this team for a while.

I am very excited about the vikings draft this year, I think they've done a great job!

The Vikes drafted the best RB  of 2007.  I was at first disappointed considering that they had a 1,300+ yard back in 2006.  But after hearing analysis fron the "experts", I am excited.  I was hoping for WR help round two, and it happened.  SWEET.  Go Vikes!

ADRIAN PETERSON, Round 1 - 7th Overall
Blessed with a perfect blend of size, speed, strength and field vision, the most decorated runner in Texas high school football continued to have great success at the collegiate level. Even playing for a school known for their storied history of running the football, Adrian etched his name into the Oklahoma record books numerous times during his career with the Sooners.

SIDNEY RICE, Round 2 - 44th overall
The Gamecocks have featured several speedy wide receivers that have gone on to professional careers in recent years, but not since Sterling Sharpe (1983-87) and Robert Brooks (1988-91) wore South Carolina uniforms, has the school been able to boast such a big play specialist like Sidney Rice. Even though he spent only two seasons on the collegiate football field in, Rice went on to mark a mark in the school record books, including becoming the first player in school history to produce back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

MARCUS McCAULEY, Jr., Round 3 - 72nd overall
A physical open field tackler, McCauley built a reputation with his ability to take on the powerful running backs while also displaying the quickness needed to shut down the speedy wide receivers.

BRIAN ROBISON, Round 4 - 102 overall
Robison was a two-sport standout for the Longhorns, as he also excelled in track and field. He earned All-Big Twelve Conference honors and qualified for the NCAA Finals in the discus and shot put, winning the conference shot put title in 2005 and ?06.

It appears as though the Vikings did pretty well with this years draft. Plus, we will have Greenway back this year healthy so it's in essence like having 2-1st rounders this year assuming Peterson is signed and everything works out with him. All in all a pretty good draft in my eyes.

AUNDRAE ALLISON, Round 5 - 146th overall
Not since the days of Southern California's Keyshawn Johnson (1994-95), who attended West Los Angeles College (1992-93), has a junior college receiver stepped into the major college ranks and made such an impact until Allison came on the scene in 2005. The explosive open-field route runner was responsible for 43.6% of the team's first downs (110) passing, amassed 36.4% (1,024 of 2,816) of the Pirates' aerial yards, accounted for 50% (7 of 14) of East Carolina's touchdown catches and produced 37.8% of the team's big plays (14 of 37 catches for over 20 yards).

RUFUS ALEXANDER, Round 6 - 176th overall
He became the first Sooner to lead the team in tackles in consecutive seasons (2005-06) since Rocky Calmus accomplished that feat from 1999-2001. Alexander earned All-State first-team honors and was ranked among nation's top 20 linebackers in the country by Prep Star and Super Prep during his senior year at Christian Life Academy. The three-year defensive starter also played tight end. In seven games as a senior, he had team highs with 86 tackles, 14 stops behind the line of scrimmage and 12 sacks. He led the team to the
district titles as a junior (10-2) and senior (8-4). He also earned All-District honors in basketball.

Tyler Thigpen, Round 7 - 217th overall
He is a highly-decorated quarterback from Division I-AA Coastal Carolina and he holds every significant school passing record. Thigpen is a dual-threat who is dangerous with his legs as well as his arm. He exploded as a senior with nearly 3,300 passing yards and a 29-11 touchdown/interceptio ratio. At Coastal Carolina, he was an All-America selection on the AFCA's 2006 team, becoming the first Coastal Carolina player and only the second player from the Big South conference to be honored on the team. Thigpen was named the 2006 Big South Conference Player of the Year. Coastal Carolina won it's third straight conference title with Thigpen at the helm in 2006.

Chandler Williams, Round 7 - 233rd overall
The only Golden Panther to ever catch more than 200 passes in a career, Williams has not only proven to be a capable possession receiver, but also showed flashes of brilliance on punt and kickoff returns. In 2006, he became the first FIU receiver to finish a season ranked in the top 10 nationally, finishing ninth with an average of 6.7 receptions per game.
