This came up tonight in chat...and I'm just curious as to what everyone's thoughts are.  (Please remember our very easy to follow rules when replying)

Ok now that the joking has stopped (at least temporarily) I'll throw in my reply.

Before I became staff here, I thought this was the place to be.  A really decent group of guys and gals.  Where right away I could tell it was a place to have fun-to get away and relax, break loose from the normal hum drum days we all can have.   A place where we can share information without worry of censorship.  Where we just be ourselves and not have to worry about fitting in with any groups-there is only one group here at MNO-US!  ALL of us is what makes MNO what it is.  And I think that in itself is pretty great!  So those are some of my reasons for hangin around here and why I agreed to be a staff member.  Lets here your thoughts!

This site is fun, yet informative, not as many cliques, good folks who seem to realize there are two sides to every opinion, not just their own.

Oh yeah, I can type it the way I'd say it as people can use language not quite suitable for grandmas dinner table.

Is there anyway our memeber # could be included in the right margin near the number of posts or such?

Your member #297, you can go into your profile and edit the part that says location, maybe add your location and member # there.

I like MNOI because the people are friendly and very helpful. At other sites their opnion is the only one that counts. Here everyone's opnion counts. It's fun, friendly and informative. I for one think you folks are great.

i would have to agree with my long lost brother Woody...it's the people that I really enjoy about MNO. I have established some great friendships with people through this site that I have never even seen in person, and yet I feel as though we have been next door best friends all of my life.

We all come from very different backgrounds, lifestyles, parts of the region, and yet we share a common bond..the love of all things outdoors.

You can be yourself and not worry about what other people are gonna think because you know that they are just like you...they either can't or choose not to think...ha ha.

Thanks to everyone at MNO for establishing this site for all of us to "come home to".

Good night John boy...

Is this a trick question?
Kinda like if we don't answer right we get locked out of the site?

I come here because it don't suck.

no trick, big slick. we're not like that.
we are allways looking for suggestions to help make this site more usable and attractive to new people.
some people dont respond when we ask for suggestions.
asking what you like about the site often brings out suggestions that we may not otherwise hear.
also it helps us better identify the things we are doing right.
take a kid hunting and fishing!!

I come here because it don't suck.

That is EXACTLY why I came here in the first place.  Then as I began to make a few posts, I made a few friends.  And it took off from there.  I honestly haven't "met" anyone on here that I don't get along with.  Everyone is friendly and willing to offer up advice, help and the occasional joke from time to time.

I only asked this because like Jigglestick said-asking what one likes about the site can often bring suggestions on how to improve on it even more.  Not only that, but it is a POSITIVE way to ask a question.  I try to instill the positive things in my kids only because there is already way to much negativity in the world.

So no, no trick question or any hyjinx of the sort.  If it were...I'd ask you something like "What don't you like about that Woody fella?"  and even then I wouldn't ban anyone for their thoughts.   ;D

It's fun! Nobody takes any of the rhetoric too seriously,
and even the A**holes can have their opinion(s)
Mostly it's the people and topics(99% outdoors)
The world has become so damn serious, this is a place to come kick off yer boots, kickback, relax and shoot the bull with others about topics we all seem to like.... Fishin, huntin, Drinking and other related topics.  Not to mention you can usually find someone that's willing to help you with something whether it's information or steering you to the right person.
That's gonna leave a mark!

redneck rambo, that is EXACTLY the answer I was looking for.  Ok, there really isn't a right or wrong answer, but everything you said is exactly how I felt when I first came to MNO, and it is how I still feel now.  Thanks for your input.

I came to MNO to post a gun for sale... that is it. Well, I didn't leave! Honestly I like it because I can read about and write about my obsessions (the outdoors) and everyone understands where I'm comming from here. I feel like I fit in even as a "New Guy". I have only been on the site for a month and I feel like I have been missing out! I look forward to becoming a seasoned vet on the site! Also, I ushualy have something to say about everything, and I can do that here. This site is the opposite of suck. Thanks for not sucking!
