Last night I was watching a buck in velvet and a doe (siblings) from last year when I asked my daughter to come look.  That is when the mother of the two ame over the hill with a fawn between her legs.  Must have been a week old.  The mother looked a little rough.  She had the others last year.

Sounds cool. I am still hoping to see a fawn here soon. From what I can tell they were born within the last couple weeks as I am not seeing any pregnant does running around. I imagine the little ones are laying low.....

Here is a picture from last weekend by our farm.  There was a set of twins laying in the ditch by the road.  I did not see them but my sister and dad took the pictures.  This is the doe and the other was a buck.  The doe was quite a bit smaller then the other one.

When deer are young are they called a buck and doe or something else???

That is pretty neat.  I wouldn't let me daughter go disturb the fawn.  I am sure she wanted to go pick it up.  She asked if we could raise it.  I told her we can watch it grow right out the window.

Yea they are so damm cute.  I guess the little buck came running up to my dads friend and stood between his legs.  He picked him up and checked what sex he was and put him back down.  They went back in the morning and both of them were gone.

A few years ago a doe come up on the road and a fawn right after.  The doe took off and the fawn got scared and laid down right on the center line.  I drove by, looked out my window and then drove down the road and waited to make sure no one would hit it.  It got up in a couple mn's and took off.  All I could think of was how bad I wanted to get out and take the little one home!!!!
