Snowbank and Burntside lake  reported good lake trout action, but slow on the bass and walleyes. Surface temp on Burntside today was about 56 degrees.

Denny from Smitty's on Snowbank reported great laker fishing, and the few walleyes and bass caught, were in 8-12 feet of water.
Burntside had some nice lakers taken, 12's, 11's, 8's and some smaller ones.

Gary from Silver Rapids Lodge on White Iron lake saw many nice northerns taken from the shores of their campsites, and from the docks. Largest was about 42 inches (19 lbs)

Other lakes that did well were Fall, Newton, and Birch. These lakes had the best walleye action and large numbers were caught. They all have one thing in common, current.

Basswood and Shagawa were sporadic, but consistency should kick in within the next week, with the warmer surface temps occurring.

Nice Report - Thanks Jim

I got calls on Thursday from the old Basswood Lodge & Skidway Island sites on Thursday where a bunch of my buddies were basking in 75 degree temps.  Gotta love it.  I haven't heard yet how the walleyes or lakers were biting.
My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character.

Thanks a lot Harold!

I've already got the Basswood trembles and after your report my whole body is starting to shake. Only 48 more days. Hearing that it's already 75 degrees. I may go into withdrawals and next to fisherman's rehab. ::fishing::
