THE RESTRICTION DOES NOT APPLY TO A PERSON HUNTING ON THAIR OWN PROPERTY  PAGE 72    WHATS THIS ALL ABOUT? DONT SEEM FAIR TO THE NON LAND OWNER  I THINK THE BAITING LAWS NEED A GOOD LOOK AT    IN MY OPINION IF YOU CAN BUY A INTESIVE HARVEST TAG YOU SHUOLD BE ABLE TO DO JUST THAT <HARVEST>  THATS WHAT SHOOTING OVER BAIT IS AND WE ALSO SHOULD HAVE SOME FEEDING LAWS  FEEDERS SHOULD BE USED TO PREVENT SPREAD OF DISEASE THAT MAY BE CAUSED FROM EATING OFF A PILE OF FEED THATS BEEN LAYING ON THE GROUND FROM DAY TO DAY  JUST MY THOUGHTS ON THIS

dearme, please don't yell at me I don't have land, a food plot, feeder or bait station, I just go out find the game I want and do my best to out smart it. If I don't kill the game at least I had fun trying. I dont know if the law is still on the books but it use to be if you owned say 80 acers you could take a extra deer, if you owned 79.9 you couldn't. Shouldn't all hunters be able to take a extra deer?
My real thoughts man sure has learned how to mess up nature in the name of helping it. Not enough deer, so feed  them all winter to inlarge the herd.  oops2.gif t To meny deer so shoot more does but don't quit feeding so less will survive the winter or give birth to 1 off spring instead of 2 or 3.
Man and nature  ::banghead::, will it ever end? :ROTFLMAO:

Dearme
I think you need to re-read the regs. You cannot hunt over bait , period, not even on your own land.
Page 72 states it real clearly. CWD isn't spread from deer eating off of the ground, they do it natually all year long, it is from deer to deer contact.

IM POSITIVE YOUR RIGHT,  I JUST CANT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY PUT THIS STATEMENT IN (THIS RESTRICTION DOES NOT APPLY TO TO A PERSON HUNTING ON THAIR OWN PROPERTY,WHEN THE PERSON HAS NOT PARTICIPATED IN,BEEN INVOLVED WITH,OR AGREED TO FEEDING WILDLIFE ON ADJACENT LAND OWEND BY A ANOTHER PERSON)  OK I OWEN LAND HAVE NOT FEED ANY WILDLIFE ON MY ADJACENT LAND SO WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO SAY HERE  I GUESS I WILL CALL UP THE DNR AND ASK THEM TO EXPLAIN THIS STATEMENT AND IF I GET A ANSWER  I WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW   I CAN ONLY GUESS ITS AN ERROR AND IT SHOULD HAVE READ   A PERSON THAT  HAS   AGREED TO TO FEED ON ADJACENT LAND

I'm guessing that it means that if you are hunting on your property close to the property line and your neighbor has been feeding the deer on his property right there and you shoot a deer that is traveling to that feed pile than you are not liable because you had no idea and no involvement. That is the only thing it could mean because you could not shoot a deer on your neighbors property.

Hope that makes sense.

I read a letter/article in a local weekly newspaper recently about this but I'll be dog goned if I can find it.  Anyway, the author was questioning why they have "intensive harvest" hunts, special "deer removal" hunts...so on and so forth but won't allow baiting and such.  It seems like in those situations, the DNR would want to impost special regulations but instead they say that the hunters must follow all current laws.  OK its in the DNRs hands and I can live with that but it never hurts to ask, find out and maybe help come to a new and better solution for the betterment of the deer herd.  Until it changes, Im a law abiding guy and would hope everyone else is too.

I also will hunt by the law, it just seems like there is going to be people out there that are going to misunderstand this statement that im talking about  and if i was on a jury i woiuld have to say it is very misleading   I do have a feeder in the back yard and keep it full all winter but i hunt about 14 miles from the house and i also found that buck jam brings them in just as good as corn and it has no food value so it is ok to hunt over by law

AFTER CALLING THE DNR  MAYFLY WAS RIGHT ON FOR THE REASON THAT THE STATEMENT WAS IN THE BOOK    SURE IS CONFUSING TO ME SO IM GLAD I ASKED   I KNOW OF SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS SAYING YOU COULD BAIT DEER ON YOUR OWN LAND       NO WAY YOU CAN NOT!!! HOPE THIS CLEARS THINGS UP A BIT

I think Minnesota needs to redo their reg book and put it as language that everyone can understand, and not have to read between the lines on every issue.I think the wording is terrible.
