I might consider shooting that one if I could control myself.

Holy Schnickeys!!! I don't think I would have time to get a shot off at this one after pulling my chin up off the ground...what an awesome Buck! Iowa certainly knows how to grow em!!

Not only do the bucks grow big in Iowa, they don't shoot every deer that walks by. I know our area is intensive harvest again this year and there isn't enough deer to support these generous limits.

There are deer shot in MN over 200lbs every year, they may not have the rack that guy does but then their not easting the same food.
In my hunting area the herd seems to be as big if not bigger then last year and we get to shoot 2 less deer this year.
I still think the healthest herd we had was back in the days of the nine day season and you shot anything. The season was also through the week of thanksgiving. We didn't have near as meny deer( infact in Milacia where gramps lived) i was almost front page news when one was seen.
I seldom understand what the DNR is up to , wonder if they understand, but I wouldn't want their job of trying to satisfy the whims of all the hunters in the state.

Luvnlife,
You shouldn't have shot all the big ones in one year. You would still have some to go after.
