What's your favorite song bird?

Many of us put out bird feeders to attract song birds.  What type of bird gets your heart pumping when you get a chance to spot one?

Since I grew up in Kentucky, I'd have to say the Cardinal.

Hands down, it would have to be the woods thrush! Not so much for just sighting one but I just love the songs it sings. You can't help but smile to yourself when you are lucky enough to hear one. One note right after the other and they all sound different. A very happy, cheery sounding song. As "Dandy" Don Meredith might put it,"A veritable plethora of harmonic symphony!" DIRTBALL2

I enjoy watching the Cardinals and Bluebirds, as far as songs of the birds I am new to bird watching and don't reallly have a fav yet.

I guess backyard song birds don't get my heart pumping. I do like a lot though. Cardinals have always been a favorite. I also like the Bluebirds and many more....

Now you want to talk about heart pumping?? There are some things in life you can never get sick of, for example, can you ever get sick of watching a bobber go down?? Everytime my bobber goes down it is like Christmas morning. Before I get to far off subject I will tell you what bird gets my blood going.....and that is a Rooster! When I am out hunting and I see a bird I get going just like everytime I see that bobber go down! I love it!

cardinals rank up there, as does the slammin' of a turkey gobble, but my best is the very first red winged blackbird of the season, each year!

I am partial to the harmonious growl of the greater northwestern spotted ferret bat...especially its mating call!!! :ROTFLMAO:  But seriously, not being a song bird to most, but the best "song" a bird makes, to me is the drumming of the ruffed grouse to attract the females and warning the male grouse to keep their distance!!!  I have called them in by copying the sound, thumping my chest, aka tarzan like, and youd be surprised how well it works! (though your friends will think yer a bit loon like....)      -thunderpout 8)

I would have to say the Loon..Love to hear their sound and sit by the lake and watch them. But the Eagle is just amazing to watch as well.
