It sounds like I must be one of very few traditional archers using this forum, but there are perhaps a few. Shooting longbows and recurves for the last 20 years and have made, I think, every piece of equipment except the bow itself. I would like to know if there is anyone who has made a self bow and could advise how I might start this? I have bought and read several books but I think I need to take a class or somthing.......

Check out 3riversarchery.com.  They have a lot of supplies including staves, glass laminations, handle options, etc. to get you going.  Making a self bow can be super cheap and very rewarding.
