I was watching some video today and the pros had their roboduck about 6ft out of the water, the post on mine is like 4ft long and it sits about 8 inches out of the water... So what is ideal, what the pros were doing or what I am currently doing? Let me know what you all do, thanks!

i don't think it really matters much... what matters is motion in the spread.
Now if you want real motion and water movement, go with a wingmagic decoy,  ;)  but my experience with the roboduck is that it doesn't matter the height.
