I know you are a St. Croix guy. Is the bite as good as everyone has said it is?

I heard the walleyes are going bananas down there from 3 reliable sources.

A friend of mine fished the river out of Bayport yesterday and did really good using night crawlers. He did so good he called and invited me out this morning but i had my sons 3 year old birthday party planned allready.

I believe one of the main reasons that we are hearing more reports from the Croix this year is that more metro people are staying closer to home and fishing local areas like the river and the metro lakes, with the price of gas now, less trips to the Northern lakes are being taken.
