This was my worst opener in 30 years! was it the weather? did I run out of luck? I didnt see a single scrape this weekend, are they still pre rut and now spooked?  I did hear a few shots saturday but not many and almost none on suday except for a couple five shot groups(hope the deer didnt shoot back) never understood that kind of shooting as i use the muzzle loader during firearms season ,yep i take one bullet in the woods kinda makes you think a little more about the shot before you fire your weapon and i have to just wonder about these hunters? who bring 20 rounds with them in to the woods maybe it just me? anyways i did get to see two turkeys and even more odd I seen a fighter jet fly over me something i have never seen here in North Branch hunted the whole day Saturday and only seen one tail waving good buy as it had been bedded next to me till about 830 am  wonder how long that deer was thinking about its get away as it had been there at least 2 hours no more than 30 yards from me in my stand. I checked in with my buddies up north of the big pond and they gave me the same story nothing moving unless jumped  oh well 7 days left and then a two week break before the ML season and i know this weater will change by then and the deer might calm down a little by then but ill keep on the hunt this week just in case the rut turns on hope you all did better than me!!!!

I had about 6 does and fawns around me Saturday mourning. My nephews daughter shot a doe. Sunday my nephew and my brother both shot bucks and couldn't find either one. They blamed there guns. They should spend more time sighting them in or buy better scopes. I never fired a shot. Still waiting for a nice buck. I also talked to the neighbors and said I heard there was a monster buck supposed to be around and they said they shot a 23 pointer last year. So much for the monster. What a let down, I was waiting all year to see it too.

I would be patient too Hunter2.  We have all seen the big boys you have caught on the trail camera.  Good luck!
