1-3-08  Ice has been firming up with the colder weather, have seen two trucks on the ice.  Still not recommending it, atvs and sleds are much safer mode with the ice formation being what it was this year.  Crappies remain suspended over the deeper water, moving up about 10 feet off the bottom.  Walleye are becoming more elusive, but are following the edges of the lake at dusk and dawn.  Shiners, fatties for the eyes, crappie minnows for the crappies.  Waxies on the East side for sunnies in the shallower waters. See bottom of page for phone number for Rush Lake Resort and reports on the East Lake.  When the west access is crowded, people are parking up at the park on the north end and coming on from up there.  Have not driven to look yet, but would assume there should be a good trail by now.
