I got home yesterday. It was rougher than hell in Isle on Wednesday, so we headed up to the north end for the day. Most of the eyes we caught were in 17 to 22 fow. We used lindy rigs and either trolled or drifted.
We decided to head back to Isle for the evening bite. We caught quite a few fish with slip corks, but nothing over 17", most were 12- 13". All in all a good trip, just never got into any biggn'.

Well the bite continues to be good. It actually may be too easy..... At certain times some spots just seem to always turn on and when those spots aren't working there are always more to try. We didn't fish in any deeper water than 10 feet all day. The best bites were around 1 in the afternoon and evening as always. We caught some nice fish that had to go back and we also got enough to fill our frying pans. Our best luck was fishing in the weeds. The depth was about 8 feet and the weeds are about 1 - 3 off of the bottom but very thin. The walleyes love to hang out in those weeds. I think the meals may be easier. Saw a ton of perch this weekend but the bite on leeches still is a favorite for those ever hungry eyes. Reports coming off the main lake were mixed but better than usual. Last night there was a steady stream of people at the cleaning shack and all 5 buckets were full by morning so people are catching walleyes. It seemed everywhere was giving up fish. I talked to guys that hit the mud and caught fish, the sand was still hot as can be, and t6he rocks are still a great choice as always. The only place I haven't heard any reports from is the gravel, maybe that will change through this next week. Northerns were also hungry! We had two big ones break off and A guy i was fishing next to caught a nice 10 lb fat fish. I also saw a few smallies come in on leeches. One was huge!! Broke the line before we could land it but we caught a glimpse of her and she was over 20 inches...It will be a hot bite this year for the smallies as usual, I think I will spend more time chasing those than I have in the past. I also had a long chat last night with a Muskie fisherman and yes I will be outfitting myself before opener. So Josh..if your reading this I will be in like I said I would! Back to work for a few days and then it will be another long weekend up at the lake. I'll be there Friday till Monday. Here are a couple pics....

Well just got an updated report. My Uncle and my Dad are up there today/tonight and they fished the same spots that I got fish yesterday. What a difference a little cold weather and a day makes. This evening was horribly slow. There was 3 small eyes caught (15 inches) and that is it. They just threw the towel in as it is getting cold. The hot bite came in the day hours, a lot of good eaters and a 26 1/2 incher. Sounds like a nice fish. This is in the same stuff. 8 feet with weeds on the bottom. A break from eyes yielded 9 crappies with half of them going about 12-14 inches and the rest smaller anywhere from 8 - 11 inches. I think this warmer weather this week can only do us good. If the fishing is still productive in the midst of a cold front we can only imagine the warmer weather will bring us better luck
