Behind another great pitched game from Santana, the Minnesota Twins have pulled to within 2 games of the Tigers!? Santana struck out 11 and gave up zero runs in 6 1/3 innings.? The Twins won the game 12-1.

The White Sox also lost today, so the Twins lead the wild card by 1 1/2 games now.

Who thought the Twins really had a chance at catching the Tigers this year?

This has been amazing.  I know I never thought they had a chance to catch Detroit and I'm not sure many other people did.

Only 1/2 game back after tonights win and Detroits loss to the White Sux.

I never imagined that I'd be cheering for Pyrzinski, but that grand slam he hit tonight against the Tigers was awesome. ;D

Can this team really do this?  I'm getting the feeling I had in 1987 all over again...

They are a 1/2 game back, but they are really tied.  We are even in the loss column and it is a lot easier to make up a win than a loss.

Well it looks like Torii's 3 run homer will put us into the playoffs. It's not a lock yet, but unless we have a total meltdown like the Tigers have had in the last 6 weeks, we should be able to clinch a playoff spot easily.

The Tigers are beating the Sox 4-2 in the 7th right now, a Tigers win would practically eliminate the White Sox from the race. A Sox win would put us into first place and still make it very hard for the Sox to catch us or the Tigers.

Lets dig out the Homer Hankies again. ;D

The Twins win behind another great pitched game from Boof Bonsor.  At this moment, the Twins are tied for first with Detroit.  The Tigers are leading 5-3 in the 8th over Chicago.  So, they will pull a 1/2 a game ahead if they hold on to win tonight.

I think it is pretty safe to say the White Sox are done.  It is just a matter of whether we will win the division or wild card.  It would be nice to win the division and not have to play the Yankees in the first round again, but if we want to get to the World Series we will have to beat them anyway.
