Hey guys and gals,

Finally have some time to give everyone an update on what is happening up here.

Fishing - Due to the very high forage base, the bite remains a tough one.  Still a lot of lookers, but not much for takers.  Guys that are staying mobile and punching alot of holes have been managing to catch some fish.  The fish that are being caught are pigs, stuffed with the young of the year Perch and Tullibee.  Deeper water 24-28 feet has been producing the best.

Ice Conditions - Dramatically improved over where we were even a week ago.  With the forecast this weekend calling for teens and twenties below zero, Mother Nature will really be making some ice.  Off road travel still remains tough, the snow has now hardened and has become very crusty.  It is like cement in places and can be very hard to shovel if you get stuck.

Roads - Our roads are in great shape and we have yet to have any heaves or cracks.  They extend from the resort out and over Doe Island Reef, Out to 2 mile Gravel and then down towards the north end of Hennepin Island.

With this weekends forecasted brutal temps, please plan ahead and dress accordingly.  One never knows what is going to happen and it is much better to prepare for the unexpected.  As always when on ice, or out in cold weather, safety first!

Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Thanks Paul,

I will be seeing you tomorrow morning.  I'm with the Mr. J. Hanson group.  I'm the one who told him to give you a call so put in a good word for us to the leader of the walleyes in the lake.
