I am a new bow hunter (first year) - I could use some more off season practice and would like to know if anyone has any ideas for a 3D league or begginer league that I could join this winter/spring?  I live in Brooklyn Park...

I want to shy away from the "Bill's Gun Range" environment, I am new to the sport and want to find a place that accepts young shooters with little expereince.  I would like to join a league that helps train, explain and promote good archery form for a "new guy"

thanks for the help!!

I would talk to Brian out at Archery Specialties. I know he takes the time to really help people and he has a lot of passion for the sport.

Hey PSEbow,

I know it may be a drive for you to get to Litchfield, but helping out beginners is our forte.  It is what we are known for.  Our league is already in full swing just like most leagues, But I will always take time to help out a beginner at not cost what-so-ever. So if you ever get a get a wild hair....Swing into Minnesota Archery.

Hey PSE, You ever want to take a ride out to Mn Archery let me know. I'll split gas with you and we could probably learn a lot out there. I know in a couple months I will be buying a new bow so I would like to start looking.

PSE, I am in the same boat as you.  I also just started bow hunting this fall.   Going to and shooting at an archery range can be quite intimadating.  I suggest getting with someone who has some experience and go with that person.  You don't even need to bring your bow, just go and see how it works.  I can't speak for all archery shops, but I'm sure most will be very helpful and will answer your questions.  I just started shooting a league three weeks ago.  Without a doubt, you will be more comfortable each time you go.  Good luck.

Hey man,
I can't speak for all archery shops, but i know in 06 i  first went out to MN Archery in Litch, and spent some time with Matt and Barry, and all the guys out there are awesome, i had never shot a bow before and within a few months i was shooting a state league score!! and now i am heavily addicted to Bow shooting, hunting and targets... and now i have to fly from Perth Australia to Litchfield a couple of times a year just to see my buds at MN Archery....good luck, just watch out for the addiction, it will get ya!!
