Made it out a fair amount over the weekend with some luck...

Sat. morning we hit a small area lake in search of some crappies. We were on the ice fishing by 8 and between 8 and 8:30 I caught 4 crappies then they became tight lipped. The remaining 3 hours we would mark a ton, and only get a few to bite. Ended up catching 12 crappies, only 3 in the keeper range, but we tossed everything back. We had to downsize severely after the 8-8:30 flurry, going from small spoons to #10 Ratfinkee's tipped with a single euro...

Sat. afternoon I checked on clients on Bemidji and decided to fish for a bit. They reported great perch fishing and some walleyes and 'pout mixed in at night. 1 hour in I had about 30 perch, a few in the keeper range, but I tossed everything back. I was taken off the lake with a call from our clients down on Leech needing assistance... Clients on Leech had 6 nice keeper 'eyes and 2 perch, and they reported tossing back a few other smaller walleyes.

Sat. evening after checking on everyone and making sure nobody was slush buried.... I made it out again. I fished 14'-16' of water in search of 'gills, finding 9 fish for my efforts. They were all 8-9.5", and only 5 were small enough to throw in the bucket. I moved off for the evening crappie bite, and fishing was slow for the first hour, marking one here and there and only icing two small ones. Then the snow came, and as the flakes began to fall the fishing picked up. I hit 15 or so more crappies in the following hour, weeding through to get my 10 keepers. I took home a limit of 10.5" to 14.25" crapps and they were still beating on the door when I left.

The pannie bite remains strong, you juts have to work a bit...
