The forecasy is calling for 80 degree weather for next weekend. Wow...I think that will be nice! Anyone else going to be up that way for Memorial Weekend?

Well i'm basically gone! I am leaving first thing in the morning. 7 1/2 hours to go. It will be a nice weekend. Sounds like it is going to blow on Saturday. They said up to 30 mph out of the S. I have a busy morning but I will be fishing in the afternoon and eve. all alone. Anyone else going to be up?

Have a good weekend everyone.....

Well I didn't make it to see Tim, but I did talk with him a few times.

I had too much going on to get free to stop in, the fish were bitting and the wife was ranting to go garage saleing so I had to make good with her then fly back to Agate Bay to head out into the windy waters.

Saturday night we caught several fish in the 15 inch range after 8:00 PM on the rocks, ended up bring in two that were 17 inches .

Sunday afternoon we drifted with spinners and power grubs because I forgot the darn bait. did catch one 22 incher with the 3 inch power minnow.

Sunday night I snuck out there with out any one aboard, but in my haste to get going I forgot the bait again.

Thank god for those Berkley power baits I always have in the boat.

Ended up with a dozen hits and one 17 incher, but had I brought the leaches I know I would have limited out.

The boat right next to me was hauling the 15 inchers in hand over fist for an hour straight.
Only saw two go in his live well so I figure he was only catching the small fish.

I am having a 4 inch by 2 inch laminated card made for me, that will go right next to the boat egnition.

I printed a note to my self on it
"DID YOU REMEMBER THE BAIT BONE HEAD!!!".

Hey great report Benny. It must have been the heat.
Here's to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold pint-- and another one!

Haven't had too much time lately but a report is always better late than never...right?

Anyway fishing continues to be good on Mille Lacs. Anyone can find a walleye or two and if your lucky you will find lots. Dragging leeches around the rock reefs has been good as well as the gravel and flats. The evening bite has been the fastest action with anglers cashing in on fish anywhere from 8 to 20 feet of water. Most recent there have been some big fish caught around flamingo. Shaws has been another hot spot this year and the whole area. Look on a map and find deep rocks during the day and you should have success. I was back and forth memorial weekend as there was a family emergency. I only managed to boat about 10 walleyes the entire weekend. I ran into a lot of small ones that measured right around 14 inches, threw'em back. Did get some nice ones in the 16 - 18 inch range and none over the slot for me this weekend :-[? Had a blast though!!? ?

About 5pm on Friday I had a big one on but it got off! My line got caught on a rod holder and when I went to pull the line off the holder the slack that was created was enough to set her free! Man that sucked! And....everyone I talked to did better than me. I was pretty lazy, the heat does that to me ;D
