I myself, feel that if they want a stadium that bad, they should pay for it themselfs.

that's my 2 pennies.

Let them take their ball and leave if they won't pay for their own playpen. I cannot understand why the public should be taxed so grown men can dress up in little suits and travel from town to town playing a game that should be left to children and adolescents. With the money the atheletes make they alone could afford a venue to ply their trade. I know some are fanatics to watch the sport but let me simplify it for you. One team will win each week and the other will lose and at seasons end one team will be the champion. Then it happens all over again next year. A game is entertaining to watch but the people that make public stadium funding happen are the ones hollering GO GO GO at the top of their lungs at a television. Here is a clue:the guy running with the ball can't hear you.

I enjoy the game but I believe the teams and owners should pay for the stadiums themselves. You don't see the state of MN or MN taxpayers helping Pat, Tim and Ryan pay for upgrades on MNO do you? That's the way it should be...if they want to have a stadium to play in, let them pay for it. They are the ones making the $$ from it, so why should anyone else have to pay for the building of, or infrastructure costs for their money machine?

well the way i see it is we the state of mn have done this twice before the lakers and the north stars and after that happened we wanted them back quickly because they do bring in revenue yes i agree the public shouldnt have to pay for alot of it, but the twins are getting a new stadium and so are the gophers in my book the vikings should of gotten one before both of them, building a new stadium i think would help the state just think how many people will be employed to help build and jobs like that, business's around the stadium also employing people to work. another stat i want to throw out here is that the gophers can afford to build there own stadium 1.5 billion i beleive i read that they have available but the public is paying for it, the twins are getting a stadium even though in my eyes there only getting worse because the owner is cheap and doesnt want to spend any money to keep good players.

i can go on all day about this but this is just my 2 cents worth

I am up for them getting one. I agree with cody. Plus when was the football season stopped do to the players not making enough money. Like baseball and hockey. I would just like to see a new place for everyone to play in. I am all for it. They are going to tax us one way or another.
If today was perfect. There would be no need for tomorrow.

I am for it, only because it is going to happen sooner or later and the longer the state drags it's feet the more it is going to cost. Not a matter of team owners paying for it, They will pay a share. lost of revenue to the state is hardly something the area can take. The money spent on the stadium as well on jobs and impact it will have has a far more reaching effect on the local business and the cities of Saint Paul and Mpls. Main U is having a stadium paid for by taxpayers that very few people from out state will ever sit in. The more we wait for a stadium the more millions in building cost will be passed on to the general public. Even though the bulk of the tax will be in the form of a entertainment or food tax. That and I can't see myself cheering for the the Packers.. With out Farve  :rotflmao:

It would be nice if the owners would pay for it, but that just is not the way it works anymore.  We can spend the money now or a lot more later.  How many millions more did we end up paying for the Twins stadium than we would have if we would have built it when it was first asked for?  It's not like we are paying for a stadium and just giving it to them either.  The state owns it and the owners will have to pay rent every year.
