My BF got a bear two years ago and I think I have finally found a wall in my house big enough to hang it.  My question is how do you hang the thing???  It is huge, just over 6' long and I don't want to damage it or my wall  ;D

Thanks, Jewel

Nice, My uncle uses those 3m sticky things to hang his hides and it doesnt hurt your wall or the hide.

I think this hide is to heavy for that??  I will check into it and see if they have a weight limit or anything  ;D

It is going in the bedroom and I don't want it falling down in the middle of the night!!

We tried that already but my house is soooo small that with the couch in the living room it does not fit   :banghead: :banghead:  It is folded up right now and my cat thinks it is the greatest thing to sleep on which does not set well with him.  I thinks its funny as ever seeing her sleeping next to a huge bear head with his teeth showing  ;D

It would look even better now because she was a long hair cat until I shaved her a couple weeks ago.  Now she looks like she has a bad case of mange!!!!!!  :rotflmao:   :rotflmao:

Hey Jewel, The taxidermists usually will ask ya if its gonna be hung on a wall or if it'll be a rug, but if it's to be hung on a wall, they sew these loops behind the felt backing about every foot or so it'll hang flat on a wall.....

I was there when we dorpped it off and I don't remember him ever asking but I will look.  He did a nice job but I think he is a crook.  You shoot a 500lb bear and he never called to tell us the skull was done (which we told him we wanted) and then when we asked he said that we never called back so he would of just thrown it out in the junk pile!!!!  He said he looked and could not find it???

I am sure I can put some loops in myself so thanks for the reccomendation, I would of never thought of that.    :bonk:

Hangers should be installed by your taxidermist without asking. You can go to my website and see what the hangers look like. If I remember correctly I have close up pics of the hangers. If not let me know and I will post them. One on each foot , tail, and chin will do the trick. Also when you are looking for a taxidermist to do your rugs make sure they stitch the backing on and do not hot glue them.

Thanks for all the help, I will take a closer look tonight and see what/if anything we have to work with.
I looked at your website and see what you are talking about.  I have seen the underside and there are no nice hooks like that on it

Hopefully we will get it hung up this week.  Then if I find my missing camera I will take a picture and post it.  I just wish I had a bigger house or wall to put it on ;D
