Monday 6/16/08 Report

Today I fished with Tommy B. and his pal Dave. The water temp was 66 degrees with a N/W wind. Sunny in the early hours with clouds arriving at mid morning. The early bite was slow and picked up nicely as the wind and clouds developed. We targeted largemouth in 13 to 16 ft and they were cooperating enough to keep us interested for some time.

Tommy lost a few fish today that jumped out of the water and every one of them he estimated at twice the actual size :bs: . Dave and I got a big kick out of that because Tommy was so serious about his size estimates, but that's what makes fishing fun.  :rotflmao:

Searching for smallmouth was a little more difficult since some are still roaming the shallows in 13 to 18 ft. The largest concentrations of smallmouths were actually found in 28 to 32 ft today and my guys definitely had a blast catchin. We didn't catch any whoppers today, but when I got my List Of Excuses Manual out I chose today's (cold front on page 7) as the main reason.

**Good fishermen know that in talking about fishing, nothing is more interesting than the truth.

See ya on the water,

Lee
