Field Test: Easton Axis Nano infused arrows

We all see hundreds of new products introduced year after year.  Some are gimmicks, some are actually products that help us in pursuing our archery endevours.  Needless to say, bowhunters have to be wary of the equipment they choose. 

This year I was able to shoot the new Easton Axis Nano's.  At first I was skeptical of their claims of having one of the strongest carbon arrows on the market.....But after shooting them I was made a believer! The design and quality of the materials in the nano is designed to transfer as much kinetic energy as possible.  Thus resulting in a hard hitting arrow.  The Axis nano's carbon nano tube bonding has been molecularly changed to increase the bonding strength of each carbon molecule. It makes this arrow one tough puppy!

I was able to take a gobbler early this spring with the Axis nano and I was impressed.  Even on our 3-D course at the shop these arrows have held up to their claims.  The only thing bad I can say is that they tend to pull out of targets a little.....and I mean a little harder than some others.  I think It has to do with the matte finish. Dad has always shot ACC's in his hunting setup, but claims that this year, he'll be shooting Axis Nanos because they seem to be very spine tolerant, and they really slam it home!! 

 Overall, I think this new product is definitely worth the investment!

yea, i was just going to say... what kind of investment are we looking at here?

Well, Depending on the dealer you go to, you can get a dozen fletched with Blazers for around $114.99. That's as low as Easton lets their dealers sell the Axis Nano for and thats what I sell them for.  If you want them wrapped....depending on which wrap a person chooses... It will cost around $12 on top of the $115 for the arrows.

Not a bad price for a high quality arrow. 

As far as pulling them out of 3D targets, I've used an old bar of soap to lube up the front end of my arrow.  Just rub it on every 3 or so targets.  My son told me that another friend of ours was spraying them with something like Pam cooking spray.
