Has anyone here ever biked or hiked on these trails??  If not you are really missing out!!!  This past Sunday I biked the Paul Bunyan from Backus to north of Hackensack and back.  It was soooo beautiful and peacful back in the woods!!!!!  I have also biked from Park Rapids to east of Akeley and that section is great also.

If you are in the area I would highly recommend taking a stroll or bike ride down these trails. You go by several lakes, ponds, pine forests, and the trail is pretty flat for you non hill lovers  ;D

The state has also set asside the money to extend the Heartland west of Park Rapids to Moorhead. They are in the planning stages right now to decided where the trail will go.

Get out and check out what MN has to offer!!!!!
