Fish On Bait & Sport
Glenwood, MN
Lake Minnewaska

What a great weekend!  Finally a 4th where it doesn't rain all of the time.  Fun was had by all.  Johnny Holms even tore up Starbuck one night with a packed crowd.  I hear that he is coming back to Glenwood for Waterama...should be fun.  Dance and party...and then go out and catch some walleyes when everyone goes to sleep!

Speaking of walleyes...

The bite on Minnewaska continues to be solid.  I have been getting alot of reports from the tournament bass fisherman (big tournament this weekend) that they have been catching walleyes all over while fishing for bass.  One fella just stopped fishing bass and started fishing walleyes and he said he got his limit in about 45 minutes drop shotting a leach in 8 to 10 feet of water out from Peter's Resort.  They are still doing very well in the Hole and School Point...I marked alot of fish when I was there but the wife and kids didn't want to "jig" for walleyes...they wanted to troll.  Priest's Point is still very good as well...but I headed to the south side this weekend for a change of pace and to get out of the wind on Saturday.  We started at the beach landing and worked all along the south shore to about Swenson Point.  We caught fish the entire way and alot of them were walleyes!

Big sunnies be caught all over but the tends to be a higher concentration in the 12 to 16 feet of water...they are some fish and they taste so good!  Crappies are still hot as well but tend to be along the reeds and cabage.  Pike and bass everywhere as always.

If you didn't know, my wife is an obsessed walleye fisherwoman...just fish in general but she loves to catch walleyes!  We usually get out every Sunday on Minnewaska as that is our "fishing day".  I usually try to sneak in a few other nights during the week if I can.

We are very competitive and we keep score.  Alot of fun and I will post the score each week if we get out.  Here are the latest results...

Saturday results:
Kyle - 15 Fish
Kyla - 14 Fish
(7 walleyes total out of that and she also caught a 26" pike)

Sunday results:
Kyle - 2 Fish  * my lure was out of tune (not really...I just couldn't catch a fish!)
Kyla - 10 Fish
(4 walleyes total out of that with Kyla catching an 18" and a 20"...do you think she was happy?)

Stop in for my hand drawn maps and current updates.  We have a good line of tackle and fresh bait for all of your needs.  Stop in and let us know how you do as well or post some updates.

Don't forget...Glenwood Waterama is only a couple weeks away!

Forgot to give a short update on Reno...

I have not heard alot but I just had a fella that comes up from Clara City tell me that he caught his limit on Monday on the south side using leaches.  He said they were nice fish.

Anyone else on Reno?
