pregnant doe ???

I got these trail cam pictures over the week end with my new cam and it looks like this doe is pregnant.  She seems to be much fatter than all of the rest of the does that I caught on film.

What does everyone else think?  I know the pictures aren't the greatest.  I had the camera set on the lowest quality setting because I didn't have a CD card in the camera and was limited to the internal memory.

It is late, but I have seen spots on fawns in mid November.

yes Guy, you are right, i have been bow hunting and a doe came
up from behind. luckily i didnt have a good shot, she came into the
opening and following was a very small fawn. if i would have got
mama, i dont think the fawn would have made it.

I too have had the same scenario happen where a doe has come into the scene with tiny fawns in mid october that should be alot larger than what they are.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the doe was pregnant.

I'm going with she died standing and she's starting to bloat from the summer heat or the DNR was out by your cams setting up shining decoys...

I too, have seen a spotted fawn in early November. I have also seen a Buck mount a Doe as late as March, which would produce a very late Fawn. The problem with a Fawn being born so late is that it's survival chances are very slim because it is not big and strong enough to survive the Winter in the northern climate.

So if you see a fawn in November, shoot it...It will be the tastiest venison that you will ever have

kind of unrelated, but interesting. back in the 60s, i remember when my
dad got his deer license. you could shoot a bear, a deer and for camp
food, a fawn. and yes they are tasty!

I agree Tim, they are the best eating.  Better for me to eat than the wolves and crows.

she could be a late breeder its very possible. or she could have something wrong with her also. i have seen deer with tumors or something like that growing out there side. or she could just be really fat and in that case she looks like she could be atleast 130lbs. and there aint nothing tastyer than a yearling

looks like shes a mature doe you could do your area  some good by trying to havest her  :fudd:as she might be a late breeder and fawn very late and so the trend continues with her young if they live will be breed late the next year and on and on. harvesting her might help your deer herd be healthier.or maybe just a growth?? what do you all think??

she very well could be carrying a fawn. you hit the nail right on the head, i think it would be better if he did harvest this deer come bow season. or she is just really fat and in that case shoot her anyways nothing like a nice mature doe

She should be fat.  These deer have leveled the food plot.  We will do our best to harvest this doe.  It is an intensive harvest area and I ran out of venison in march.  My kids love the stuff.

I think she is pregnant but my little brother thinks that the bulge is to far forward to be a fawn.  He thinks that she is just bloated from all of the turnips.

let us know if you get anymore pictures of here closer up i think it will be easyier to tell. she could be bloated also. it can be a number of things
