Kind of quiet in here so far, so I will start you off.

My self and Mrs. Bowhunter73 are heading up Friday night
And I have a good felling she will be getting her first ever deer
This weekend. As much as I am for team Rack Attack to win.
I would love to see her get a deer.

So this weekend I am going to be wishing the best for both of are teams.

 Good luck
Are you a hunter or do you just kill things? Respect the wildlife!

I have been out a few times in Wisconsin bowhunting already, but alas no big bucks yet.  I have had the opprotunity on a few does, but passed for now...  Had to put one in the freezer late Friday night as the ex hit a yearling doe with her car and I couldn't let it go to waste.  Made for a sleepy pair of hunters 6:00am in the stand for Saturdays youth hunt with my son in Wisconsin.  Good luck everybody!  And watch out on the roads as this season heats up!

I picked up these trail cam photos of bucks at my Dad's farm outside Winona, MN in the last couple of days.  I have 5 bucks in the last week that would go 2-3 years old I would guess. 8's, 10's, and the nasty buck.

Here's another nice pic of the big 10 point I've been getting on camera this year.  Pretty cool if I can just see him during the season : )

I have had nothing on my trail cam in the last few days.  The scrapes that I have my cameras on were active with multiple bucks on most nights until the 30th, when both scrapes went dead.  No deer on them at all now through last night.

Snow is good!  I am all primed to go now.  Sighted in my 12 gauge on an innocent milk jug.  It wasn't a pretty sight.  I have never had to reset that scope in 10 years or more of hard use.  I have dropped it, fell on rocks, etc and always stays on.  Hopefully the woods are hopping in the morning!  Good luck!

A hundred points for yours truly!  I went out into the stand 1/2 hour before 1st light.  I was set up just inside the woodline on a ridge top overlooking two apple trees.  The 1st deer I saw was a small two year old buck with 4 points on one side and a broken off antler about 5 inches long on the other.  He was soon joined by a small spike.  A pair of does came out about 15 minutes later and they chased around after one another for a bit, then disappeared.  About 7:40 am this girl came in from the opposite side and then ran straight at my tree and turned sideways at about 30 yards.  I couldn't pass that up!  I also surprised a nice buck when I was dragging her out of the woods, or I should say we surprised each other.  Gone in a flash, as the saying goes!  Never lifted my gun it was so quick.

Add another little doeling toward the tie breaker.  I was on my way out to sit this evening when I saw two deer leaving my sweet corn plot and heading up the grass hillside toward the timber.  I sprinted around the shed out of sight and ducked over and ran the 40 yards to the last cover which is a disk I left at the field edge.  It was about 100 yards to the wood line where they were.  A long shot, but with a good brace and scope :fudd:

I just grabbed another baby doe toward the tie breaker this morning.  I crawled to a favorite spot along the top of a ridge where a couple of nice bucks have been harvested in recent years.  About 7am I spotted a large doe and her doe fawn being chased out of a thicket a short distance away by a small yearling buck.  I let them pass in hopes of something larger showing up.  About 15 minutes later this little doeling came back and fed for about 10 minutes within 15 yards of my tree.  I finally gave in to temptation after making certain it had no buttons.

This final evening and I had two does and a fawn feeding in front of me about 40 yards.  I let them go for awhile to see if Mr. Big would show.  I did have a small spike come out and join them with no fussing around to indicate estrus.  With less than 30 minutes of light left for the season I bagged my 4th doe to fill the regular tag.  I still have a chance for a buck in WI and MN for bow, but the freezers are already filling fast with my son's black bear, the 4 does shot this week, and the young doe my ex hit with her car two weeks ago.

wildlifeminnesota, cool picture of the buck in the grass/swamp.  I took one like that but it didn't turn out very well.  I wish I could get pictures like your.
