Clean out the Pantry to make Dog Treats

Did you buy those just in case I need mashed potatoes and dry milk for the holiday meals? This simple recipe will help you use up those ingredients and get them out of your pantry. Your pets will be thrilled. This is so yummo for them!

Things You’ll Need:

1 box of Dry Mashed Potatoes 7.2 Oz approx.
1 cup dry milk
1 cup flour (try Rye, Soy,wheat or any kind of flour)
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup water

Step 1:
Preheat oven to 375.

Step 2:
Mix all ingredients together well. Dough is ready when you can touch it and it does not stick to you. If dough is still sticky add a handful of the flour you used until it is not.

Step 3:
Roll out dough and cut with your favorite cookie cutter. A cup or glass works great as well. Or go for a free form cookie - Just pinch off dough in table spoon amount and place on the cookie sheet just as you would if it were cut into a shape.

Step 4:
Treats will not flatten or rise. Placing treats close is acceptable in this recipe.

Step 5:
Bake for 45 minutes or until the treat releases from the pan by itself. You will know this by tilting the pan to the side just a bit and you see a treat move.

Step 6:
Let treats cool completely. Store in the refrigerator because this treat just like any other fresh product will spoil when left out. Treats will last longer in the frig.

I know this is an older post, but I had a question.

Would there be anything wrong with taking these cookies, or whatever they are called and wrap them around a piece of left over turkey, roast or ham before you bake them?

Or even stuff them with peanut butter and use them as a snack for the dog during the day when chasing pheasants.

peanut butter would be good, if any meat is used it would
have to  be kept at a safe temp. my lab loves peanuts.
