Fishing Report for The Hackensack Area:

The hot weather has slowed everything down including the fisherman and maybe that is why the reports are not as good as last week. Walleyes in the area are spotty right now. The best walleye bite would probably be on Ten Mile. The bite is obviously better in the evenings and early morning. With the heat a lot of guys hit the water at night and found that the walleyes were a bit more productive. Crankbaits were the best and spinner rigs with leeches or crawlers followed in at second with a slip bobber bite coming in at third. If your looking for bass you don't have to look far. All area lakes are producing a good bass bite. If your into sunnies go to Birch Lake. Although all area lakes are producing panfish, Birch seems to have more bigger fish being caught. These panfish are biting on crappie minnows and wax worms.

I will be in the area this weekend, staying on Big Deep.  Nothing much for structure that I have found the past couple years, just once it starts to drop, it drops fast.  The wife is staying home to help some friends unpack, I'm getting too old to be tubing and wakeboarding with the youngsters, so it's fishing for me, from sun-up till sundown...

We are trying to find access to Mann Lake besides the little culvert.  The resort does not let people launch there any more.   >:(
