What's the worst thing you've had to mount?

Reason I ask is a young fellow round here just started. He does excellent work on fish but IMO needs some practice on small game. I've told him this in a nice way an now when I call him and say I got something, he's afraid it's a porcupine or something.

PS I did tell him too that if I ever get a porky he's gettin it.

For me immature waterfowl or any birds for that matter that are all full of pin feathers. I don't care who you are, you can not make one look good. I have gotten to the point I don't take in the stuff that is of lesser quality. It is better to turn it away than mount it, have it look sub par, and make LESS MONEY FOR MORE TIME trying to make it look good. Then all you have is a poor looking mount in the hand of an unhappy customer most likely. That equals less business. Small mammal taxidermy is not very lucrative in my opinion, most people are not willing to spend what it takes to make a decent wage to turn out a good looking small mammal.
