When the kids get one, they are required to help, it's the only way they will learn.

My cousin Scott...aka bowhunter73 guts all my deer. He is always just a phone call away!

Thanks to Scott (bowhunter73) he did help gut my deer....especially after he cut the stomach open by accident. That was pretty gross. I'm just not a fan of gutting deer.

We usually gut our own deer, but if someone has a hang up or something they need to get done we'll help out!  Our party has 6 boys between the ages of 8 and 11, and between all of them and the dang cats...our gutting days our numbered!  I'm not sure if the boys or the cats have their noses into the deer further!  Ha!

most of us do our own gutting but if i am there i usually just ask them to move and get it done and out of the woods asap. or i end up finishing what they left behind when they bring them to the house.

After helping, Tim I have rethought my view on helping seasoned hunters gut there deer. I have posted before that I would help the first time or two then they are on there own. With out going into detail last weeks hunt has changed my mind. If I need to gut a deer for somebody in order to let a friend or family member enjoy the outdoor as I do, I will be willing to do this for them now.

I know I have done worse things or harder things for such people before.
And I know they have helped me too when needed.

I had a great opportunity to show my younger cousin how to gut a deer last weekend as I do some hunting on thier property. It was really amazing to see how well he caught on and how interested he was in the whole process and he actually did a little cutting and gutting himself. I have been on him a little every year trying to get him to come with me bowhunting, or I would take him out gun hunting, but until now I hadn't seen a spark of interest from him for either.

I think it finally worked! I just talked to his dad and he just purchased a bow setup for him from cabela's last night.
Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive.
